ABOUT US

Director and principal certifier, Ben Scroope, grew up in Yass and has worked in the building industry for over 20 years. Ben gained valuable practical experience locally as a carpenter and is a licensed builder in NSW. He has an undergraduate degree in Building Surveying and Certification with first-class honours (Central Queensland University) and a Masters Degree in Project Management (University of Wollongong).

Ben has worked in local government and private industry on residential, commercial and industrial projects. He is a registered Building Surveyor – Restricted (all classes of buildings) with NSW Fair Trading and a Level 2 Building Surveyor with the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS).

OUR SERVICES

Yass Valley Building Certifiers offer a range of services related to building approvals:

Issue Construction Certificates (CC)
Issue Complying Development Certificates (CDC)
Act as a Principal Certifier (PC), conducting mandatory critical stage inspections of building works during construction
Issue Occupation Certificates
Issue compliance certificates specifying that conditions of consent have been satisfied or that work complies with the plans and specifications, or nominating the classification of a building under the Building Code of Australia (BCA)
Undertake swimming pool barrier inspections and issue certificates of compliance
Provide BCA assessment reports
Undertake CDC pre-assessments
